  1. Hi Cheryl,
That was certainly a pleasant jolt from the past. Thanks very much for making the effort to dig up my mail id & get in touch. Good thinking on your part to put in the names of all our classmates as a starter as otherwise I would have deleted your mail without a second glance, thinking it was one of those insidious "bugs" or spam which are often sent with feminine sender's names to lure the unwary (male). Before I launch into a condensed version of my post college life history, pl. do tell how you know M.N. Shanta. She was our (Lal, Jeeves, P.G.Thomas & I) classmate in school, but certainly wasn't in M.C.C. Where did you two get to know each other ?? Pl. also let me have her email id, as I'd like to get back in touch with her. We used to correspond fairly often till she stopped mailing for some reason.
Reg. the list of classmates, I've added in the name of "Arunachalam" standing next to Cherian George (2nd row from top) & in the "Missing Persons" list I've included "S. Krishnamurthy" more popularly known as "Jeeves" & Shirley Jacob (now Verghese). My compliments on your amazing memory - being able to remember everyones names - as I could remember only a handful.
    Now for the "biodata".

  2. Hi Cheryl,
I am known as an assertive quack at home because I advocate aloevera to everyone for every ailment. Much like Killer at MCC who managed with minimal panacea .In that sense I patrol the fringes of the health business. Keeping this short. Will pack all the stuff that came by email into this in a day or two.
    Bye,
    Teddy

  5. Hi Teddy,
Thanks for that your above messages and thanks for the step-by-step. Got to reading your message last time, and wrote a comment - but managed to bungle it somehow at the tail end.

As for Aloe-Vera - I think its a fantastic product. So keep up the patrol...

    Will be in touch
    Cheryl.

  6. Hi Cheryl,
To get a group going, email is not a proper channel. Yahoo groups ( now passe) or one of the other social networking sites would work.

Uncle had mentioned cancer and ayurveda. My mind went straight to a schoolmates' mother who was terminally ill and sick of chemo. She finally took the brave decision to try Siddha. She recovered and has been pretty independant for over 10 years. Luck may be or is there something more to alternative therapies. God knows.
    Bye,
    Teddy

Blogspot is the most popular blog arena hosted by Google. Once you find the address you will reach the first page. It is called the POST page. This is where introductions, photos and other matter of a permanent nature are put up. Each post will have, at its bottom, a small bar which tells you how many comments been made for that Post. For eg. At the bottom of Cherian Kuriens pic it shows 0 comments. You click on it and you will reach the comment page. You can comment ( leave a small message)
    about that photo.
The POST on which all should comment is right at the bottom showing 8 Comments. This gets archived every month and a new Post will be be put up to continue conversations.

    IT IS EASY
    Teddy

  9. Ok I'm in and thanks for resending the instructions. The earlier message is probably on my laptop which I rarely use now as i rely more on my netbook.
It is a sunny day here in Blighty, temp about 17C and the wind is up and there is a definite autmn nip in the air. The leaves from the apple tree are falling and has covered the grass; i spent all Saturday raking and mowing and strimming so am a bit fed up. Every morning you come down and the leaves are everywhere, which is infuriating. Should have settled for pine trees but the purists will say that is not on in the Suffolk countryside! so you can't win.

Well, I'm looking forward to catching up in 2010 and barring any calamities should be there for an overdue visit. India, i hear, has grown by leaps and bounds and some places have become frightfully expensive - my nephew said he paid about £7 for a dosa in a semi-posh hotel in Delhi. In East Ham in London there is a Sarvana Bhavan where i think it is about £3. Four of us old boys - Prem Chandran, Vernon Seneviratne (in his 70s), Vasanth Sharma (in his 60s)- had a meal there two Fridays ago after a boozy session. The food was good - dosa, pooris, rava, vada and iddlis plus coffees and lassis for the princely sum of £35 including a tip. That's very reasonable by British standards; how does that compare to India's finer establishments? The one and only complaint one of us had was that the protion of masala in the masala dosa was a mean helping. I recall the splendid masala dosa in the park opposite the US Embassy in Chennai - can't remember what that restaurant chain is/was called. It was finger-lickin good.

Better get on and get some work done!
    Matt (Uncle)
Do i still stick with this moniker or has it stuck on? Does one ever lose labels?
